General Conditions

Synergy Didactic Class Language School is a private company and Cervantes Institute Examination Centre and other institutions. Head office: Synergy Didactic, Ronda de Don Bosco, 29, 36202 Vigo, Pontevedra, Spain

1. CONTRACT

1.1 Synergy Didactic Class accepts no responsibility whatsoever for cases of force majeure (according to law) or for student´s actions.

1.2 On formal enrolment in a course (and accommodation) over the internet, online booking or in writing, students must accept the General and Payment Conditions, as well as the norms, rules and guarantees of Synergy Didactic Class that they have previously been given and read. No signatures are necessary for the agreement. Any payments confirm the acceptance of the agreement with all these conditions.

1.3 The contracts are personal and non-transferable.

2. CLASSES

2.1 In high season, some classes may be given in classrooms outside of our facilities.

2.2 Synergy Didactic Class management reserves the right to extend the timetable for classes to 9 p.m.

2.3 In the exceptional case that only 1 or 2 students are enrolled in a course in the same level group, the school reserves the right to change a group course into a Private or Semi-private program. In this case, class hours may be reduced up to 50%.

3. COURSE ACCREDITATION

3.1 A personalised certificate will be issued for studies in accordance with the guidelines established by the Instituto Cervantes and the current legislation regulating non-accredited education.

3.2 This certificate will contain the name of the course taken, course level and number of hours completed. The name of the school in which the classes were given, dates of enrolment and level achieved will also be included.

3.3 This certificate is not valid as an official document in accordance with the legislation regulating non-accredited education.

3.4 Course verification will only be issued to students who attend at least 85% of their classes.

4. HOLIDAYS

4.1 Please check our web site (www.spanishclassinspain.es) for updated holidays as they may be subject to change before planning your trip.

4.2 Synergy Didactic Class is not obliged to refund or make up any classes missed due to National or Local holidays. When more than one holiday falls in the same week (Monday-Friday), either one day of the missed lessons can be made up or 15% of the cost of that day will be discounted.

4.3 There will be no refund of classes missed due to national or local holidays except for Private classes which will be made up in all cases.

5. ACCOMMODATION

5.1 The student will be charged for the replacement of broken items due to either negligence or by intention.

5.2 If there is damage and no one is directly responsible, the cost of repairs will be divided among all the students in the apartment or residence.

5.3 In the case of a serious disciplinary offence or repeated bad behaviour, the student will be expelled from the accommodation contracted with Synergy Didactic Class without the right to any refund.

5.4 In high season, family stay, apartments and student residences may be substituted by another type of accommodation at a corresponding price.

5.5 If you reserve a shared double room (shared with another student) and there is no other student with whom you can share the room, we reserve the right to change your room at any time.

6. INSURANCE

6.1 Synergy Didactic Class has an accident and civil liability insurance policy that covers possible incidents or minor accidents that may occur within its centres. Apart from this coverage, neither Synergy Didactic Class nor host families provide insurance of any kind against illness, accidents outside the premises, robbery or loss of personal property. Students are strongly advised to obtain insurance coverage in advance from their own country.

7. ADMISSION OR EXPULSION

7.1 The Synergy Didactic Class management reserves the right to accept students aged 16 or under in exceptional cases.

7.2 Synergy Didactic Class reserves the right to cancel the student’s place if on the day of their arrival the total sum of the course has not been paid, accommodation and other services contracted.

7.3 In the case of a serious disciplinary offence, repeated bad behaviour or infringement of the laws of the country in which the course is taking place, the student will be expelled from the school and accommodation contracted with they or their agency without the right to any refund.

7.4 In the case where damages are caused to third parties, all the expenses claimed from they or their agency that originate from the above-mentioned incident will be charged to the student, who will have no right to later claims.

8. LAST-MINUTE RESERVATIONS, CHANGES AND ACCEPTANCE

8.1 The advance payment for confirmation of the reservation will be 150 EUR.

8.2 For the confirmation of reservations made 2 weeks or less before arrival (for Kids, Juniors and Teens programs 4 weeks or less), the total invoice must be paid in full at the time of enrolment.

8.3 The amount of 100 EUR will be charged for administrative costs for all changes to confirmed course reservations, at any time after arrival and subject to availability.

9. OFFERS AND DISCOUNTS

9.1 Enrolment fees are valid for one year from the first reservation made. In other words, any courses reserved during a 12 month period can be made using the same enrolment fee.

9.2 Our published offers or other type of discounts cannot be accumulated. All offers or discounts are subject to availability and have a fixed duration period. No changes will be made to bookings that have been received prior to the promotion. All offers and discounts will be applied at the time of booking.

10. VISA

10.1 Students from western Europe do not require a visa to enter Spain. Students from other countries must enquire about obtaining a visa at the Spanish embassies or consulates closest to them.

10.2 The certificate certifying enrolment (invitation letter) can ONLY be issued by the school when the enrolment form and a copy of the passport have been received and full payment of the program has been received via bank transfer. Not applicable for citizens of Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Israel, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Turkey and the US.

11. ENROLMENT AND PAYMENT

In order to enroll on a course, please send:

1. Application Form duly filled in.

2. Enrolment fee of 150 € by bank transfer addressed to Synergy Didactic Class. This amount will be deduced from the total fees. After sending your Application Form,Students who need to apply for a visa have to send full payment (course + accommodation) in the moment of enrolment. As soon as we receive the enrolment form and the deposit, the school will confirm the booking and send all the necessary documents and information. The balance will be paid for in one of the following ways:

11.1 By bank transfer (at least 15 days prior to the starting date of the course), Secure Online credit card payment

11.2 By credit card: You can pay by credit card through our secure online payment web site: www.spanishclassinspain.es

11.3 By bank transfer to Synergy Didactic Class Please put the student’s name and “Synergy Didactic Class” on all documents relating to transfers.

All bank charges will be your responsibility. In the case whereby the bank charges us a commission for receipt of your payment, we reserve the right to charge you this sum on your arrival.

Please ask us for your student number.

11.4 The total sum in € must be received at least 2 weeks before your arrival (for Summer camp and Junior program at least 4 weeks). Where payment in full is not received Synergy Didactic Class has the right to cancel the program, and the student has no right to a refund.

11.5 Personal checks won’t be accepted in any case.

11.6 All prices are valid until the 31st December 2015 for courses beginning and ending in the year 2015.

11.7 Synergy Didactic Class is not responsible for printing errors that may appear or for errors in publications by third parties about Synergy Didactic Class.

These payment conditions are not applicable to organised groups with accommodation, transfer, social and cultural activities programs.

12. COURSE CANCELLATIONS

12.1 For cancellations received more than 30 days in advance to the starting date, all payments made (excluding Registration Fees and accommodation) will be refunded.

12.2 For cancellations received between 29 and 15 days in advance, a 50% of all tuition payments (excluding Registration Fees and accommodation) made will be refunded.

12.3 For cancellations received less than 15 days in advance, no refunds will be made.

12.4 All cancellations must be notified in written.

12.5 No refunds will be made to students leaving the course after it has started.

13. CUSTOMER SERVICE

13.1. Any complaints need to be given in writing and within the first 24 hours. Otherwise students will lose the right to any compensation, refund or changes. Synergy Didactic Class will accept any suggestions after departure date or requests only on a information level and to improve our services.

14. COPYRIGHT

14.1. The management of Synergy Didactic Class reserves the right to use all possible photos taken during the student’s stay unless the student declares otherwise on his arrival at the school.

15. PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA

In compliance with Spanish Law 15/1999, December 13, regarding the protection of personal data, Synergy Didactic Class would like to inform you that your personal details within these general conditions will be stored in a database (whose liability and responsibility is Synergy Didactic Class, S.L.), solely for the commercial and operative purposes of the company. By accepting these general conditions you give your consent to the above said treatment and for their use for the aforementioned purposes. At the same time, you have the right to request that we inform you of your rights to access, correct and cancel such information within the established terms of the prevailing legislation, by writing to the address: C/ Ronda de Don Bosco 29.
